We're absolutely thrilled to announce the arrival of our little boy into the world on December 28th....Jason Sims Christie. He weighed in at 6 lbs, 14 ounces, 19 3/4 inches long, has a great set of lungs and dexterious guitar playing fingers. I'm taking some time for Daddy bonding but will return in the new year for our annual spring date at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Pasadena.

Phil will be one of the Premiere Showcase Performers at this year's FAR-West conference in Irvine, California November 6-8. For more info, visit the FAR-West website at www.far-west.org

We're comin' home for our first hometown show in over 10 years. Long overdue, it's already shaping up to be a big reunion of friends and family. Mark the date in your calendar for Thursday, June 25th, 9:00 pm at the Free Times Cafe.

I was very fortunate to attend a master class in songwriting this past spring at UCLA with legendary lyricist Marty Panzer. Marty is responsible for writing some of Barry Manilow's greatest hits, such as "This One's For You", "Even Now", and "It's A Miracle", as well as Kenny Roger's "Through the Years". The opportunity to study with such a legendary song craftsman was unforgettable, and even Barry himself worked with us at one of sessions. I'm delighted to be one of this year's scholarship winners and to further explore and develop my craft as a songwriter. Check out our "photos" link for a picture of both Barry Manilow and Marty Panzer at one of the recent classes. The photo was taken during the same week that Barry's latest album "Greatest Songs From the Fifties" went Number One on the Billboard Charts.

We're thrilled to announce that the song "Mother's Day" won an Honorable Mention in the 13th Billboard Music World Song Contest.
